As you may know, Oxford FCU participates in Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, an initiative that helps ensure people in our communities and across Maine have access to healthy, nutritious meals. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, many planned fundraising events for the campaign have been canceled. But, people need our help more than ever before. Families who were food secure—even a few months ago—are now struggling to put food on the table.
So...we thought we could help raise funds for the campaign by offering a way to give students a little extra recognition to go with those diplomas - with SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS!
For a minimum donation of $10, we will help you honor and recognize the 2020 graduate in your life – with a slide on our roadside digital signs (see samples at bottom). These spotlights will be in rotation through most of the month of June, so there will be plenty of opportunities to see your senior's name "up in lights"!
Here's how it works!
1. Between now and June 15, make a tax-deductible online donation ($10 minimum) to the Campaign and select Oxford FCU as your credit union.
2. After you’ve made your donation, send a screenshot of your confirmation (or forward the email you’ll receive) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Be sure to include the name of your graduate and their high school or college/technical school - and on which location's sign you would prefer the name to appear (Mexico or Norway).
If you don’t want to use an online process, you can make your donation when using our drive-thru or leave it in our night deposit box. Be sure you note that it is for “SENIOR SPOTLIGHT” with the name of your graduate and their high school or college.
We are excited to help you celebrate the class of 2020 this way - and your donation will help ensure Maine families continue receiving the food they need!
Do I have to be a member of Oxford Federal Credit Union?
Nope! The campaign we are raising funds for benefits families all over Maine.
Can I submit more than one senior name to be recognized?
Yes! Each name recognized requires a minimum donation of $10.
What if someone else donates to recognize the same graduate that I submitted?
That's fine! We will recognize a senior for each person who makes a donation in his/her name.
However, if a person makes more than one donation to recognize a specific senior, only one slide will appear on the sign. One spotlight per senior/donor.
Does my senior need to have graduated from a high school in Oxford County?
No! We will spotlight seniors graduating from any high school or college/technical school throughout Maine and the US … make that the world!
*We can’t guarantee the availability of logos for schools & universities. If a logo can't be used the institution's name wiill appear on the slide*
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Donations made through the online link, directly to the Maine Credit Union’s Campaign for Ending Hunger will be provided a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. If you are unable to use the online link, Oxford FCU is happy to accept and submit the donation on your behalf, with other Oxford FCU member donations.
Can I make a donation without recognizing a senior?
Yes! We welcome & appreciate all donations to Maine Credit Union's Campaign for Ending Hunger.
